10 days and counting!

Well starting to catch up on everything around the house and getting more used to my new schedule. This coming work and school week should be easier than any other because not a single day will I ever have to walk home for 2 miles! YAY!

So I'm hoping that either after this week or sometime during the week the blogging will be back to normal. I really need to catch up on taking pictures of Tygana and Pepper. They are enjoying the cooler weather and the open windows. So I have a question!

Whats everyones favorite baked good?!

Our mom says she has so many favorite baked goods it's hard for her to pick just one. Oatmeal raisin cookies, chocolate cake, banana bread are some of her favorites!

It's good things are getting settled at your house. My human bean's favorite backed good is a peppernut, a type of Scandinavian cookie made 'round Christmas time.

My favorite baked good (if you could call this baked) is brown and serve rolls. My human lets me have a little piece when they come out of the oven. Nom!

Nice to hear that things are getting back to normal for you...just think what great shape your legs will be in from all that walking :-)

I have to agree with the Whiskeratti, soft, warm chocolate chip cookies rule!!!

homemade catnip and turkey treats of course!!!!!

Ingredients
* 1/3 cup Bisquick
* 1 large egg
* 1 egg yolk, beaten
* 1 to 2 tablespoons water
* 1 tablespoon wheat germ
* ½ cup dried catnip
* ½ cup dried catnip, saved (for you to roll dough in afterwards)
* 2/3 cup ground turkey, cooked

Directions
1. Pre-heat your oven to 350°, and grease a cookie sheet with non-stick spray.
2. Place your cooked turkey meat in a food processor or blender, and blend until it becomes a thick paste.
3. In a large mixing bowl, mix the turkey, wheat germ, ½ cup dried catnip, whole egg, Bisquick and your water.
4. Now take the turkey mixture, and using a tablespoon of the meat mixture at a time, roll it into a ball. Flatten your ball out a bit and roll it in the rest of the dried catnip that you set aside before.
5. Place the dough balls onto your cookie sheet, and bake them only until they turn golden brown. Baking time for your treats should be about 5 - 8 minutes (remember oven times may vary due to altitude and the weather outside). Please do not overcook this treat, because then your cat may not want to eat it. They usually like treats soft, but not too crunchy.
6. Take treats out of the oven and let them cool well; several hours is best. Then you can store you new treats in an airtight container for 5 days in the refrigerator or up to 1 month in your freezer.
