Hi everyone!
Just wanted to let you all know Tygana is doing well!
His creatinine level went down which is absolutely wonderful and he is eating well!
Now the only thing to tackle is smaller needles! These 18g I got from the vet...HUGE, poor guy.
Pepper takes advantage of the situation occasionally and has developed his indoor cat pouch....coming in at a whopping 13lbs! But really he is just a large cat long legs, body everything.
So I have been doing a lot of reading lately and wanted to let you all in on something you may or may not know!!
Polydactyl cats!!!!
As you know my precious Tygana is a thumbcat
(I got that from this adorable english commercial!!! Why we dont have commercials like that in the states...I will never know)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6CcxJQq1x8&feature=player_embedded
In the US polydactyl cats are more common north of boston, ma to halifax canada...in fact one in ten cats in this region are polydactyl! Their ancestors are from southern england!
Cat from around the NY come from the ancestry of cats from amsterdam and the netherlands!
Isn't that crazy....so close yet so far away!!!
I got this from Cats: visual reference guide!

We are glad Tygana is coming along well and eating up!
Cool facts about polydactyls.
Hooray! We are so happy to hear about Tygana doing better. Pepper sounds like our cats ... always looking to eat each others food.
Thanks for the polydactyl facts ... who knew?
So so glad Tygana is doing better - I was a bit worried when I did not hear more from you!

Excellent news! Keepin' the healing purrs coming.
And that commercial was just too much!!
Hi Tyganna! Hi Pepper! We missed you whle we couldn't visit! We are so happy to hear that Tyganna is doing so well - as one of our earliest blog friends we have a special love for him!!
We loved the facts about polydactyls, especially since our newest baby sister is one - and so are most of her siblings. They are a lot less common around here (near Chicago) and we knew that they were found in the Florida Keys (at the Hemingway house) but had no idea they were so common on the east coast like that!!
Did you also know that it is a particular trait in Maine Coon Cats that people really look for? :)
Glad to hear tygana is better- keep it up! and 20g! SHEESSH!
Woops! Sorry I have 20g on the brain! I meant 18g, LOL! The smaller the number the bigger the needle! I want to get him 20's next time! I'm going to ask for them and if they dont have it I'm going to ask for a rx to order them online
